General Worker (Lydenburg)

Description

This role involves assisting with general activities on site.

Responsibilities

  • Work with your immediate supervisor to achieve operational targets.
  • Perform daily inspections in your designated area.
  • Plan and manage tailings material on site and at depositing areas.
  • Extend and connect pipelines.
  • Open and close valves as needed for operations.
  • Follow work instructions from your supervisor for specific tasks.
  • Help solve operational problems and report issues to your supervisor.
  • Perform mud guard duties, such as monitoring and controlling tailings dam levels and ensuring dam integrity.
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations according to safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Attend toolbox talks or meetings.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate.

Experience

  • A minimum of one year’s relevant experience.

Skills, Qualities and Abilities Required

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • Teamwork and being observant.
  • Good listening skills.

General Requirements

  • Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.
  • Must be physically, mentally, and medically fit according to company and/or client standards.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.
  • Availability to work overtime when necessary.
