Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

  • ABET Certificate (higher qualifications are an advantage).
  • Knowledge of basic work practices, including how to use simple tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Understanding of caring for lawns, pruning, and trimming plants.
  • Basic knowledge of using chemicals (mixing and diluting) for maintenance.
  • Familiarity with maintaining machines and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of using water and managing resources.
  • Awareness of health and safety rules and government regulations for this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general support tasks as needed.
  • Load and unload furniture, equipment, and materials in assigned areas.
  • Clean and maintain government vehicles and work spaces.
  • Cut grass, trim plants, and clean pavements.
  • Cut and store trees, and control vegetation.
  • Help maintain grounds, tools, and facilities for a clean and safe environment.

  • Preference may go to candidates living in the Eastern Cape Province.
