Requirements and Expectations

Minimum Requirements

  • An ABET certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of operating tools, equipment, and appliances for general maintenance work.
  • Familiarity with lawn care processes, pruning, and trimming techniques.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance, including cleaning, painting, and basic repairs.
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform various general labour and assistant tasks as required.
  • Load and offload materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Carry out garden and grounds maintenance, including grass cutting, pruning, and weed control.
  • Assist in maintaining dam premises, canals, pipelines, servitudes, terrain, and buildings.
  • Participate in painting and spraying activities (e.g., Roundup application).
  • Assist in extinguishing veld fires and implementing safety measures.
  • Ensure adherence to OHS Act regulations and workplace safety protocols.
  • Perform other general duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Preference may be given to candidates residing within the KwaZulu-Natal Province.
