Job Information

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to carry out instructions as directed by the line manager and operate according to site-specific needs within Fraser Alexander in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Responsibilities

Operations
  1. Punctual adherence to site-specific time schedules or shift times.
  2. Daily attendance of safety talks.
  3. Daily conduct of risk assessments.
  4. Ensuring proper shift handovers.
  5. Operating valves and barges.
  6. Numbering valve stations.
  7. Positioning and extending valve stations in the paddock.
  8. Packing berm walls, wing walls, paddocks, and pool walls.
  9. Dressing the walls.
  10. Paddock packing lines.
  11. Color coding of plant equipment.
  12. Positioning floodlights.
  13. Seeding and grass planting.
  14. Installing and maintaining an irrigation system.
  15. Installing and maintaining berm drains.
  16. Extending penstock cages.
  17. Operating and cleaning penstocks.
  18. Extending delivery lines.
  19. Installation and maintenance of freeboard poles.
  20. Maintaining traveling ways (non-fabricated).
  21. Maintaining platforms and catwalks.
  22. Depositing tailings in the required profile according to the deposition sequence, plan, cycle, and standards.
  23. Assisting and carrying out tasks and instructions from higher line managers as requested.
Housekeeping
  1. Practicing good housekeeping in all work areas.
  2. Cleaning tools and storing equipment properly.
Timekeeping
  1. Accurately reporting personal timekeeping.
Health and Safety
  1. Following written or verbal safe work procedures when executing specific tasks in an emergency, as per training.
  2. Wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for each specific task.
  3. Following all safety and site emergency procedures as per training and site-specific standards.
  4. Being prepared for emergencies.
  5. Reporting unsafe acts and/or conditions.
  6. Participating in all training-related activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 10 education.

Experience

  • No experience required, but candidates should be medically fit as per company standards.

Skills, Qualities, and Abilities Required

  • Good communication, conflict handling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good quality control skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
