Major Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and carry out the strategy for Griffith Crown Foods (GCF) to grow revenue, margins, and market share.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations for the leadership team.
- Turn the strategy into yearly plans with measurable results.
Operational Management:
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing and supply chain operations (focusing on service, quality, and cost).
- Run a strong Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process that connects demand, supply, and financial plans.
- Drive ongoing improvements and productivity in all areas.
Financial Oversight:
- Take full responsibility for the profit and loss (P&L) through Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT), not just gross profit.
- Manage working capital: Set and meet targets for accounts receivable (days sales outstanding – DSO), accounts payable (days payable outstanding – DPO), and days of inventory (DOI); improve cash flow and inventory management.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting; spot risks and opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Represent GCF to internal and external stakeholders; share performance and plans openly.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal controls (separation of duties, approvals, and audit readiness).
- Promote a culture of accountability, ethics, and safety.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team across functions (Operations, Commercial, Finance, R&D, HR).
- Build succession plans, boost engagement, and develop skills; coach leaders to achieve results.
Innovation and Growth:
- Work with R&D and Commercial teams to speed up innovation and bring products to market.
- Shorten time-to-market and increase value from new products.
Problem Solving/Decision Making:
- Make quick, data-based decisions that balance revenue, margins, service, and cash.
- Solve complex issues involving production, inventory, and customer needs.
- Prevent risks ahead of time; raise issues with clear options and effects.
Working Relationships:
Internal
- Reports to both GM, Griffith Foods Africa and GM, Crown Food Group.
- Supervises leaders in Manufacturing/Operations, Supply Chain, Sales/Commercial, Finance, R&D, and HR (direct or matrix reporting).
- Works with the Africa Leadership Team as a peer.
- Regular contact with IMEA Supply Chain, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Quality Assurance/Regulatory, and Shared Services teams.
External
- Key customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulators.
Qualification and Experience:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, or Engineering.
- MBA is an advantage.
Experience
- 10+ years in senior leadership with proven P&L responsibility in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or process manufacturing.
- Strong skills in managing working capital (AR, AP, DOI) and experience with S&OP.
- Experience leading teams in a matrix or dual-reporting setup.
Work Environment
- Mainly based at the site or office, with occasional travel to plants, customers, and partners (local and international).
- Flexible schedule to meet operational and customer demands.
