The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree in Business Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a similar field. You need at least 15 years of industry knowledge and 10+ years in a senior management role, preferably in logistics, transport, or operations. An MBA will be an advantage.
The General Manager leads the company’s management functions. This includes developing and implementing strategies, meeting profit and cash flow goals, improving operational administration, and providing accurate monthly reports. The role also involves managing personnel, including organizational structure, staffing, and development, in collaboration with relevant managers.
Experience and Qualifications
- A relevant degree in Business Management, Logistics, Commerce, or similar.
- An MBA qualification will be an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years of industry knowledge and 10+ years in a senior management role, preferably in logistics, transport, or operations.
- At least 10 years in a senior management role with performance measured by achieving profit targets.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities and manage their execution.
- Ensure alignment between operational goals and the organization’s strategy.
- Oversee the total management function of the company.
Financial Management
- Manage profitability, cash flow, and budgeting with the Financial Manager.
- Evaluate risks and implement risk management measures.
- Provide monthly reports on profitability, receivables, and operating expenses.
Operational Management
- Manage processes, policies, and procedures for quality and compliance.
- Oversee all operational functions for optimal efficiency.
Personnel Management
- Manage organizational structures, roles, succession planning, and talent development with the Human Resources department.
- Ensure effective communication, support, and performance management.
Customer Management
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Improve service levels to enhance customer satisfaction.
