The role:

• This position leads the maintenance program for operations. It ensures effective management and ongoing improvement of Seriti’s engineering assets, resources, and infrastructure. The focus is on safety and sustainability. It also oversees daily execution of plans to keep machinery and equipment running smoothly. The role manages people and resources to meet production targets.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage people effectively, define roles clearly, and develop skills and training paths to build team capacity.
• Handle financial budgeting and management.
• Understand SCADA systems, PLC, and electrical networks.
• Promote safe work practices and environments by following legal requirements, group standards, and policies for engineering in operations and projects.
• Manage conveyor belt inventory and forecasts.
• Oversee critical spares and sub-assemblies, including stock levels, repair turnaround times, and quality.
• Maintain libraries of structural, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings.
• Optimize planned maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to keep them in good condition.
• Contribute to special projects by helping define scopes for new initiatives.
• Research and apply best practices for cost, maintenance, safety, and people management.
• Have strong knowledge of conveyor belts, transfer chutes, screening, crushing, stacker-reclaimers, pumps, dense medium separation plants, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Manage structural integrity maintenance.

Requirements:

• N4 Technical Certificate and recognized Trade Test in the relevant field, or National Diploma, or Engineering Degree.
• At least 4 years’ experience as an appointed 2.9.2 Electrical Foreman.
• Deep knowledge of technical engineering, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
• Good understanding of machinery and equipment used in mining.
• Awareness of best practices and new technologies in engineering principles and processes.
• Computer skills: MS Office and SAP.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Possess or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.

Advantageous:

• Experience in low voltage, instrumentation (control systems), and medium voltage equipment and infrastructure.
