Forensic Pathology Officer Grade 1 – Middelburg FPS

Employment Type: Full-Time Position

Essential Qualifications:

• National Senior Certificate/Matric (Life Sciences – Level 3 minimum)
• Additional science subjects preferred

Core Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (mandatory) and willingness to travel
• Understanding of Forensic Pathology Service legislation
• Physical/emotional capacity to handle human remains in various conditions
• 24/7 shift flexibility including weekends/holidays

Key Competencies:

• Effective communication skills (written/verbal)
• Time management and organizational abilities
• Computer literacy and documentation skills
• Adherence to health/safety protocols

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct scene response and evidence collection
• Assist in post-mortem procedures and specimen management
• Maintain proper forensic documentation
• Facility/equipment maintenance management
• Provide court testimony when required
