Reporting to the Branch/Regional Manager  The above position is vacant at our Parow Branch. The overall purpose of this position is to control and efficiently manage the company vehicles as well as oversee the repairs and maintenance of vehicles.  Minimum Requirements:  Experience in managing fleet is essentialA good understanding of operational skillsA good understanding of the vendor application processStrong supplier communication is an advantageComputer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and WordExcellent administration SkillsExcellent verbal and written skillsBe familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures relating to Fleet ManagementExperience in the supervision of staff is essentialAbility to work without supervision and under pressureDrivers licence is an advantageOwn transport is an advantageMust be able to work long hoursKey Performance Areas: (not totally inclusive): Manage the vehicle fleetOverseeing the repairs and maintenance of Company VehiclesManage COF’s and Licence renewalsFollow up on spare parts ordered for the MechanicsEnsure that the vehicles book into the workshop and are done according to the specific procedureEnsure that the mechanic test drives the vehicle before leaving the workshopRecord and report comebacks on vehiclesEnsure that parts are orderedEnsure that the workshop area is kept clean and adhere to health and safety requirementsMaintain vehicle service history files accuratelyAttend meetings (accident meetings, operational meetings etc.)Spot check on vehicles to ensure the quality of the mechanic’s work is maintainedAdhering to all requirements as specified in the Transport policies and procedures manual and health and safetyEnsure that vehicle repairs are controlled via proper authorizationAllocate fines to the responsible DriverEnsure that accidents are properly investigated and appropriate action is takenEnsure that suppliers comply with proceduresRecord keeping of vehicles kilometresGeneral administration (emails, telephones enquiries, driver queries, request quotes, supplier queries, invoices, record keeping, reporting etc.) Other Personality Attributes and Core Competencies: AccuracyMust have strong verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skillsOrganising and planning abilityWilling to work long hoursAbility to meet strict deadlinesMust be able to work reliably and responsibly with internal and external colleagues and suppliersMust be proactive and innovativeMust be “hands on” and able to resolve problems quicklyGreat attention to detailResults driven with great customer focus and must be responsible and accountableHave analytical thinking skillsTeam work We reserve the right not to make an appointment to any advertised position.Whilst preference is given to existing employees at all times and the choice made is purely on merit, Historically Disadvantaged Candidates and Black Female Candidates are encouraged and supported in the FSG team.  Whilst black female candidates will be given priority as per our transformation policy subject to the above criteria.
