Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading pharmaceutical retailer in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Cleaner for their Durbanville store. As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across various areas of the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certification
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience
• Strong command of the English language
• Basic customer service skills
• Ability to work retail hours
• Additional language proficiency (area-specific)

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Previous retail store cleaning experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, shop floor, and communal areas before opening hours.
• Develop cleaning routines to ensure all areas remain clean and well-maintained.
• Keep the canteen and restrooms clean, ensuring they are always stocked with necessary products.
• Be available during operational hours to clean as needed.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
• Ensure wet floor signs are visible when cleaning.
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers.
• Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Able to work retail hours
• Physically fit for walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting objects
• Reliable transport or residency near the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
