Salary: R100,000 per annum (all-inclusive package)

About the Municipality

uPhongolo Local Municipality is a Category B municipality located in northern Zululand District, bordering Swaziland and Mpumalanga Province. As one of five municipalities in the district, it serves communities along the strategic N2 corridor between Gauteng and Durban.

Position Summary

We invite qualified graduates to join our 12-month internship program in the Finance Department, working under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

– Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
– BCom degree/National Diploma in:
  • Commerce
  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Business Management
  • Supply Chain Management
– Basic computer literacy
– No prior work experience required
Preference given to local community applicants

Key Performance Areas

• Assist with GRAP implementation and budget reforms
• Support VAT reconciliation processes

• Help develop financial policies
• Perform general accounting tasks as directed
