Job Overview:

We are looking for a careful and detail-focused Finance & Admin Officer to join our finance team in Rustenburg or nearby areas. You will handle daily financial checks and reconciliations, load creditors into the accounting system, and manage related payments.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting:

  • Keep accurate financial records by entering data into the accounting system.
  • Process invoices in the accounting system.
  • Handle invoice processing on Nebula.
  • Load payments weekly for release.
  • Identify where accruals are needed.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve billing issues or answer questions.
  • Prepare cashbooks and credit card reconciliations weekly or monthly.
  • Complete all petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
  • Perform daily reconciliations between the Property Management System and the Accounting System.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Help prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Track budget performance and analyze variances.
  • Provide financial insights and suggestions for cost management.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Work with auditors during financial audits and provide required documents.
  • Complete OKRs based on management account inputs.

Cashflow Management:

  • Monitor cashflow to maintain liquidity and financial stability.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts and manage working capital.

Other Duties:

  • Perform daily sales checks on all charges and match them with activities, spa, and other revenue streams.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations for EFTs, credit cards, and petty cash.
  • Handle stock control, reconciliations, and remittances for supplier invoices and statements.
  • Bank petty cash.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external financial audit checks.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Help with various compliance reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Skilled in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work alone or in a team.
  • Experience in lodge operations is a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Ability to handle multiple financial tasks and prioritize well.
  • Understanding of reconciliations and their role in financial processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
