We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Finance/Legal Assistant to support our conveyancing team with financial and administrative tasks. The role involves preparing Statements of Account, processing payments in AJS, and handling invoicing.

To qualify for this position, you need:

  • Matric certificate.
  • Legal secretary or BCom in accounting qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing and managing Statements of Account for conveyancing transactions.
  • Familiarity with legal case management and accounting systems, such as E4, AJS, or similar software.
  • High level of computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and balancing Statements of Account in E4 for residential and commercial property transactions.
  • Entering payments in AJS for multiple stakeholders, ensuring all transactions are accurate and authorized according to company policy.
  • Invoicing fees in AJS.
  • Monitoring and reconciling client ledgers, identifying discrepancies, and resolving financial queries efficiently.
  • Supporting the finance and legal teams with administrative tasks, including document preparation, client communication, and general case progression.
