Cape Agulhas Municipality

The Cape Agulhas Municipality covers about 2,411 square kilometers. It includes the towns of Bredasdorp and Napier, coastal towns like Arniston, Struisbaai, L’Agulhas, and Suiderstrand, and rural areas such as Protem, Klipdale, and Elim. Elim is a private town. The main administrative office is in Bredasdorp.

Requirements

  • A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing, or Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting I, II, III; Auditing I; Mercantile Law I; Economics I; Business Economics I; Business Management I; and Local Governance I.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with practical experience.
  • Ability to speak at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Key Functions

  • Handle general financial management, following the Financial Management Act 56 of 2003 and other relevant laws for the municipality.
  • Manage expenditure and related tasks.
  • Oversee income, cash management, and related duties.
  • Support supply chain management and related activities.
  • Assist with budget, treasury management, and related functions.
  • Implement internal controls, auditing, and related management tasks.
  • Perform various other duties in the municipal finance department.

Special Conditions

  • Preference will be given to candidates who live within the Cape Agulhas Municipality area.
