Position Overview

Transnet, a leading freight logistics company in South Africa, seeks an experienced and skilled Executive Manager to oversee Contract and Demand Management. This role requires collaboration with various teams to manage contracts, ensure compliance, and optimize demand planning processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in procurement, supply chain management, and contract negotiation, with strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with end users, legal, category management, and sourcing teams to manage and report on contracts and demand management.
• Monitor category management plans to identify and address risks or issues.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational standards.

Position Outputs

• Develop and maintain integrated demand plans to support procurement, supply chain, and financial goals.
• Create and update policies, processes, and frameworks for effective demand management.
• Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders and address challenges in demand management.
• Ensure processes comply with legislative requirements and governance frameworks.
• Prepare and analyze performance reports to inform strategic decisions.
• Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to achieve savings and business objectives.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Manage risks and ensure audit readiness for demand management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or Industrial Engineering (NQF 7). An MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in procurement or a complex business environment.
• 5-7 years of senior managerial experience, preferably as a Head of Procurement.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation and CIPS membership are advantageous.
