Ethics Manager

About NSFAS:

We are a public entity providing academic bursaries to South African citizens studying at public higher education institutions. Our mandate supports access to education through responsible financial aid management.

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Ethics Manager to lead organizational ethics programs, compliance initiatives, and risk mitigation strategies while promoting a culture of integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Ethics & Compliance Leadership:

  • Develop and implement ethics policies, risk controls, and monitoring systems
  • Manage whistleblower systems and confidential reporting channels
  • Conduct ethics training programs and investigations

Strategic Operations:

  • Oversee third-party due diligence and conflict of interest registries
  • Implement POPIA/PAIA compliance frameworks
  • Coordinate anti-corruption risk assessments

Team Management:

  • Lead recruitment and performance management for ethics unit
  • Mentor staff on compliance best practices

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NQF Level 7 degree in Law/Accounting/Audit/Risk Management
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred
  • 5+ years’ ethics management experience (2 years supervisory)
  • Expertise in PFMA, POPIA, FAIS Act, FICA regulations
  • Strong background in compliance monitoring and investigations
