Environmental Officer: Specialised Production – Biodiversity

Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate plus a relevant Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, or a related qualification.
- Experience as per OSD requirements; 1-2 years’ experience is an added advantage.
- A valid driver’s licence is required.
- Required skills and knowledge: National Environmental Management Act, Public Service Regulations, Public Service Act, NEMBA, computer literacy, good writing and communication skills.
Duties:
- Provide specialised technical support for developing, maintaining, and implementing the district’s biodiversity management plan.
- Offer expert advice to ensure compliance with coastal management legislation for institutions and developments.
- Evaluate complex biodiversity and Coastal Zone authorisation applications and oversee compliance processes.
- Provide specialised technical and procedural advice on biodiversity and Coastal Zone matters in the area of operation.
- Handle administrative and related functions.
