Environmental Officer Production Grade A: Environmental Empowerment Services (X3 Posts)

Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Nature Conservation, or any relevant qualification.
  • No experience required as per OSD requirements; however, 1-2 years of relevant experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of and experience in community-based natural resource and biological diversity management.
  • Computer literacy and skills.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, such as the National Environmental Management Act and NEM Protected Areas Act.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Duties:

  • Implement environmental empowerment programs to integrate environmental education into formal education structures, such as schools and institutions of higher learning.
  • Identify and implement environmental capacity-building programs for the general public and relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote and implement environmental awareness programs.
  • Perform and manage administrative and related functions.
