The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a public entity that provides academic bursaries to South African citizens pursuing studies at public universities and TVET colleges. We work under the Department of Higher Education and Training to support accessible education.

Core Responsibilities:

Wellness Program Development & Implementation

  • Design and execute employee wellbeing strategies in alignment with organizational goals
  • Develop workplace wellness policies and awareness campaigns
  • Coordinate professional counseling services and staff support programs

Workforce Support & Development

  • Conduct trauma debriefing sessions and wellness workshops
  • Analyze health trends to create targeted interventions
  • Collaborate with external providers for comprehensive wellbeing services

Strategic Operations

  • Manage wellbeing program budgets and resource allocation
  • Prepare detailed reports on program effectiveness and workforce health trends
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and labor legislation

Required Qualifications:

Essential Criteria

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Psychology/Social Work/Industrial Psychology
  • Certification in Employee Assistance Program management
  • 6-8 years’ experience in workplace wellness programs
  • Understanding of SA labor laws and occupational health regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in relevant field
  • HPCSA registration as Counselor/Psychologist
  • Advanced project management certification
  • Experience in higher education sector environments
