Position Details

Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Experience Required: 4-6 years
Education: BTech/BEng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Role Purpose

Develop and maintain electronic systems for radio astronomy instrumentation solutions through all project phases from concept to operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electronic systems meeting technical specifications
  • Create circuit schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Develop and test embedded firmware/software
  • Prototype development and validation testing
  • Component selection and technical specification management
  • Cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams
  • Technical documentation and operational support

Technical Requirements

Qualifications:
BTech + 6 years experience
BEng + 4 years experience

Essential Skills:

  • Analog/digital circuit design expertise
  • PCB development lifecycle experience
  • Embedded systems programming (C/Python)
  • Hardware troubleshooting with test equipment
  • Signal processing fundamentals

Operational Requirements

  • Domestic/international travel capability
