Job Title: Driver X1

The Department of Transport Services at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) seeks to appoint a Driver. This is a one-year fixed-term contract based at the Giyani Campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport students for academic purposes
• Transport employees for meetings, workshops, and lectures
• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections
• Report accidents to the transport officer
• Maintain records of kilometers on log sheets
• Report minor and major damages to vehicles

Minimum Requirements

• NQF Level 1 / General Education and Training (Grade 9/ABET Level 4 National Certificate)
• Relevant driver’s license

Special Requirements

• EC driver’s license
• Public Driver Permit (PDP)

Experience

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in driving

Knowledge

• Current road traffic rules and regulations
• Basic vehicle inspection and maintenance

Skills

• Customer care
• Communication
• Basic mechanical knowledge for minor on-the-spot breakdowns
