Driver with Secondary Functions: Physical Records Management

Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government, seeks a competent individual to drive motor vehicles for transporting passengers and items such as mail and documents.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Junior Certificate (Grade 10) or equivalent qualification
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Valid Code B driver’s license (or higher) with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
Recommended
- Good client relations experience
Key Responsibilities
- Collect mail bags from the Post Office and documents from department offices, either by vehicle or manually
- Sort and distribute internal mail across all department offices
- Prepare mail for posting by franking
- Ensure the vehicle is maintained in good condition and request services as needed
- Assist with records management functions
