Job Description:

The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Driver Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialized equipment, driving, and performing maintenance tasks to support the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate specialized equipment and perform routine inspections to ensure proper functioning.
• Load and offload goods/equipment and maintain accurate log sheets for vehicles and machinery.
• Perform minor repairs and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition (e.g., checking oil, fuel, tires, and water levels).
• Provide transportation services for work teams and materials as required.
• Clean and lubricate machinery to maintain optimal performance.
• Perform road maintenance tasks such as grading gravel roads and shoulder maintenance.
• Ensure safety precautions are followed at all times while operating equipment and driving.

Requirements:

• Grade 10 or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
• A valid driver’s license with a PrDP (Goods and Passengers) and an operating certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in driving and operating specialized equipment.
