Overview

The Department of Correctional Services is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver/Messenger to join their team. This is a full-time position based in Gauteng, requiring a valid driver’s license and at least three years of driving experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive light and medium motor vehicles to transport the Chief Deputy Commissioner and deliver items such as mail and documents.
• Perform routine maintenance on the allocated vehicle and report any defects promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and log books for the vehicle and goods handled.
• Provide clerical support and messenger services in the office of the Chief Deputy Commissioner.
• Collect and deliver documents from the post office.
• Distribute documents within and outside the department.
• Keep accurate records of all official trips and manage departmental assets.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the cities where the functions will be performed.
• Completion of an advanced driver’s course is an advantage.
