Job Description: Driver (Link) – Skooch – Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth

The JD Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver to join their team in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth. As a key player in logistics, you will ensure the safe and timely transportation of goods between hubs and distribution points.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while following road laws and company protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to confirm vehicle readiness.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage and working hours.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and scheduled routes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and report any delays or incidents promptly.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by adhering to freight handling procedures.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving 6×4 Truck Tractors (e.g., Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, or MAN).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with either 3-axle, 14.5m dry or refrigerated trailers, or 6m x 12m tautliner trailers.
• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Clear criminal and driving record.
