Job Description

As a Driver, your key responsibilities will include:

Safety, Health, and Environment

  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Report unsafe practices or risks to your supervisor/manager.
  • Support good housekeeping practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Equipment and Machinery Movement

  • Safely load, move, and shift equipment and components as instructed.
  • Select the correct lifting equipment and tools for tasks to meet procedures and requirements.

Equipment Inspection

  • Check equipment availability at the start of your shift and escalate any shortages.
  • Inspect equipment for functionality and safety before use.
  • Report any equipment deviations to your Supervisor for resolution.

Assistance and Support

  • Liaise with relevant personnel to arrange resources needed for task execution.
  • Assist your Supervisor and colleagues as required, following company policies.

Pre-Shift Inspections

  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of vehicles, equipment, and components to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any deviations to your Supervisor.

Role Details: This role is part of the Various department at the J6 level, reporting to the Transport Coordinator/Planning Advisor.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Valid South African Driver’s Licence.

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of vehicle and equipment components and functionality.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing standards, component drawings, and shop manuals.
  • Operational experience in Maintenance.
