Description
We are looking for a reliable Driver to join our team. In this role, you will ensure safe and efficient delivery of explosives products. Key responsibilities include:
- Follow company policies by staying updated through training and seeking answers to questions as needed.
- Stick to processes by carrying them out accurately and addressing any issues quickly.
- Suggest ways to improve processes by spotting opportunities and sharing ideas with your manager.
- Complete daily deliveries by checking products, verifying seals, confirming addresses, planning routes, delivering items, and getting proof of delivery.
- Load vehicles correctly, plan routes well, and follow all traffic and explosives transport rules.
- Help with safe offloading by planning with the receiver, securing the area, following safety steps, and completing the process.
- Keep the vehicle ready by doing daily checks, ensuring your license and Explosives Operators Card are valid, and confirming safety equipment like fire extinguishers is in place.
- Update your logbook daily with delivery details, distances, and other trip info, then submit it on time.
- Track fuel use in a log with costs, mileage, and other data, and submit it as required.
- Support safety, health, and environment (SHE) efforts by completing training and fixing any gaps.
- Monitor SHE performance against standards and resolve issues promptly.
- Keep SHE practices compliant by reviewing them regularly and correcting problems.
- Build good relationships with team members, stakeholders, and service providers through clear communication and feedback.
- Track service provider performance and take action on any issues.
- Support your team by joining activities and offering help where needed.
- Stay active and reliable in team tasks.
- Identify your growth needs and pursue training to build skills.
- Take part in company events and show our values in all work.
Requirements
- Hazchem Certification
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 2 years’ experience as a driver
- At least 1 year in handling explosives and emergency procedures (Hazchem)
- At least 2 years’ driving experience in a supply chain explosives setting
