Job Description

SA Metal Group, South Africa’s oldest and largest metal recycling company, is seeking a Code 14 Driver to join their team in Orkney. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a variety of Code 14 vehicles and ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Code 14 vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report any faults or issues.
• Load and off-load materials and equipment as required.
• Adhere to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of all road users.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with a valid PDP.
• At least 5 years of Code 14 driving experience.
• Practical hands-on approach to the job.
• Experience with manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience with reversing draw-bar trailers (required).
• Operating a Mounted Grab Crane is an advantage.
