Job Purpose

To ensure delivery of stock to customers according to the planned delivery schedule, while providing superior levels of customer service in line with the company’s standards and business ethics, and within the bounds of the law.

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

• Manage and control the delivery process from start to finish.
• Prepare for the next day’s deliveries.
• Follow the start-up procedure.
• Ensure independent driver checks of truck stock are done fully and signed accordingly.
• Travel to the customer following the defined route and delivery schedule.
• Carry out the delivery of stock.
• Return to the depot within the specified timeframe.
• Sign, consolidate, and return all documentation fully.

Demonstrate Superior Customer Service Levels

• Provide high levels of customer service during deliveries.
• Live the company’s values by being respectful and courteous to customers and consumers.
• Keep customers informed about what they are receiving and the progress of off-loading.
• Maintain constant contact with the distribution controller or expeditor to provide feedback on execution and any delays.

Safety, Health and Environment

• Ensure a safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment.
• Comply with safety and health policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
• Complete pre-trip inspections before every trip.
• Report all non-compliant items from pre-trip inspections to management.
• Practice green band driving at all times.
• Follow the truck lock-out procedure during every loading sequence.
• Comply with all traffic rules and regulations at all times.
• Follow all safety, health, and environment rules.
• Keep vehicles clean and presentable.
