Divisional Head: Local Economic Development Jobs

Duties:
Reporting directly to the Manager: Planning and Development Services, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

• Provide strategic support for local community and economic development to the municipality.
• Coordinate and implement local business strategies to support economic development in the community.
• Establish, manage, and evaluate local business strategic investment initiatives and projects.
• Handle registration and licensing of Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs).
• Coordinate SMME training and capacity-building programs.
• Provide operational divisional reports and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Manage human resources.
• Manage the division’s budget.
• Update the Local Economic Development (LED) analysis during Integrated Development Planning (IDP) phases.
• Coordinate LED strategy projects.
• Manage outdoor advertising.
• Coordinate the Social Labour Plan and Corporate Social Investment by mines.
• Manage and coordinate tourism activities in the area.
• Organize the LED stakeholder forum and manage coordination of the flea market.
• Manage and coordinate activities related to the museum.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
• Code B Driver’s License.
• 5 years of relevant working experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level.
