Position Details

Employment Type: Full Time

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Built Environment

Experience Needed: 10+ years (5+ years in senior management)

Location: Gauteng

Professional Registration: SACPLAN or equivalent required

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic integration of city operations including urban planning, building control, and special projects
• Develop compliance frameworks for land use management and outdoor advertising
• Oversee capital project execution and policy implementation
• Ensure adherence to SPLUMA, MFMA, and municipal building regulations
• Manage risk control measures and audit readiness programs
• Optimize resource allocation and budget management
• Enhance service delivery through team leadership and stakeholder engagement

Essential Qualifications

• Degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related built environment field
• Proven leadership experience in municipal operations
• Comprehensive knowledge of South African municipal legislation
• Strong project management capabilities
• Effective communication and team management skills
