Overberg Water Board – Disaster Management Internship Opportunity

Company Overview:

Overberg Water Board provides essential water services to communities across the Western Cape’s Overberg region, spanning from Botriver to Heidelberg/Riversdale. Our operations support both urban and rural areas within Cape Agulhas, Theewaterskloof, and Swellendam municipalities.

Position:

Disaster Management Intern (12-Month Contract)

Requirements:

• National Diploma/Degree in Disaster Management, Public Administration or related field
• Valid Code B driver’s license
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GIS basics
• Fluency in two official Western Cape languages
• Physical fitness for fieldwork in various weather conditions

Key Responsibilities:

• Support disaster management operations and reporting
• Coordinate with emergency response stakeholders
• Assist with training programs and public awareness initiatives
• Provide general administrative support to the Disaster Management team
