Company Overview:
Overberg Water Board provides essential water services to communities across the Western Cape’s Overberg region, spanning from Botriver to Heidelberg/Riversdale. Our operations support both urban and rural areas within Cape Agulhas, Theewaterskloof, and Swellendam municipalities.
Position:
Disaster Management Intern (12-Month Contract)
Requirements:
- National Diploma/Degree in Disaster Management, Public Administration or related field
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and GIS basics
- Fluency in two official Western Cape languages
- Physical fitness for fieldwork in various weather conditions
Key Responsibilities:
- Support disaster management operations and reporting
- Coordinate with emergency response stakeholders
- Assist with training programs and public awareness initiatives
- Provide general administrative support to the Disaster Management team
