About the Role

The Western Cape Government seeks an experienced ICT professional to lead the implementation of transversal ICT infrastructure and related services. This strategic position requires a leader capable of driving technological excellence across provincial operations.

Key Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in relevant field
  • 5 years’ senior management experience
  • Completion of Senior Management Pre-entry Programme (Nyukela) prior to appointment

Core Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership
  • Oversee provincial ICT infrastructure solutions and services
  • Manage WAN/LAN networks and data center operations
  • Coordinate regional infrastructure support and partnerships
Strategic Governance
  • Develop and implement ICT strategies aligned with provincial objectives
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA and national ICT regulations
  • Manage service level agreements with external providers
Team Management
  • Lead multidisciplinary ICT teams across multiple locations
  • Implement performance management and staff development programs
  • Foster innovation and continuous service improvement

Required Competencies

  • Expertise in enterprise architecture and systems analysis
  • Proven track record in large-scale ICT project management
  • Comprehensive understanding of public sector governance
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
