Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or NQF Level 7 qualification recognised by SAQA, or an equivalent relevant qualification. They need at least 5 years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level. A SMS Pre-entry (Nyukela) certificate from the National School of Government (NSG) is required (submit before appointment), along with a valid driver’s licence.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of financial management, relevant legislation, and policies.
  • Programme management and an integrated approach to service delivery.
  • Understanding of Traditional Institutions and financial management rules that guide Traditional Councils.
  • Knowledge of public sector guidelines.
  • Skills in planning, team development, decision making, presentation, leadership, community development, networking, organising, controlling, and research.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) with departmental employees, other government departments, municipalities, Traditional Institutions, NGOs, and the private sector.
  • Good computer literacy in MS Office.
  • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
