Director: Logistics Jobs

Requirements:

• An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) recognized by SAQA in Logistics, Financial Management, or an equivalent field.
• Five years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level in a similar environment.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG) is required.
• Computer literacy.
• A valid driver’s license.

Required Knowledge:

• Understanding of the Justice Cluster dynamics.
• Knowledge of public service policies and legislation, including the Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 as amended.
• Experience in public service planning processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining and efficient human resource management.
• In-depth understanding of human resources legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the department’s logistics and assets, and develop policies in line with relevant laws, regulations, and frameworks.
• Oversee the department’s inventory.
• Ensure effective implementation of logistic policies.
• Develop policies for logistical services and procurement of semi-official telephones.
• Manage the electronic implementation and maintenance of logistics policies within PAS 26.
• Act as vice-chair for forums on logistical aspects in the public service.
• Handle loss control and disposal management according to laws, regulations, and departmental procedures.
• Oversee departmental asset losses and disposals.
• Manage departmental transport in line with relevant laws and procedures.
• Monitor coordination of subsidized vehicles and ensure efficient use of transport.
• Manage vehicle maintenance and losses.
• Oversee provisioning administration systems and training.
• Manage human resources, finance, assets, and performance information.
