Gamagara Local Municipality in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province seeks a qualified professional to lead urban development initiatives in this Category B municipality located along the N14 National Road corridor.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science/Architecture, Town Planning, or Development Studies
- 5+ years managerial experience at middle/senior level
- Proven track record in professional development/town planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management certification
- Professional registration with relevant body
- MFMA National Treasury competency certification (or willingness to obtain within 18 months)
Essential Knowledge Areas
- Spatial planning & geographic information systems
- Municipal governance frameworks & performance management
- Local economic development strategies
- Public procurement regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead integrated development planning processes
- Manage municipal GIS infrastructure
- Oversee departmental budgeting and performance reporting
- Coordinate urban development projects
- Advise Council on spatial planning matters
