Requirements:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) recognized by SAQA in Behavioural or Social Sciences, or equivalent.
- Five years of experience at a middle or senior managerial level in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of the South African Correctional and Criminal Justice system.
- A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG) is required.
- Computer literacy.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of the Justice Cluster dynamics.
- Knowledge of public service policies and laws, including the Public Service Act and Regulations, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and especially the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 as amended.
- Experience in public service planning processes.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining and human resource management.
- In-depth understanding of human resources laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership on plans and activities.
- Develop, review, and improve policies, procedures, standards, systems, and controls for incarceration and corrections.
- Support and ensure compliance with laws and policies on unit management and work opportunities for inmates.
- Coordinate strategies to reduce overcrowding.
- Monitor compliance and improve services through visits and evaluations.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal teams, government, and non-government organizations.
- Manage human resources, finances, and assets.
- Handle performance information.
