About the Organization
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) works to strengthen cooperative governance systems across South Africa. We focus on provincial governance, local municipality development, and traditional leadership structures as outlined in the South African Constitution.
Position: Site Coordinator (Community Work Programme)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Northern Cape
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations of CWP activities within assigned site
- Manage relationships with local stakeholders and community partners
- Monitor program compliance with national standards and audit requirements
- Oversee participant registration, attendance tracking, and payroll validation
- Prepare detailed monthly/quarterly reports on program outcomes
- Facilitate training programs and skills development initiatives
- Manage site resources and maintain proper documentation systems
- Coordinate Local Reference Committee activities and community partnerships
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
- 3 years’ experience in project coordination or community development
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences or related field (advantageous)
