Position Overview:

Lead strategic operations for one of South Africa’s largest municipal fleets, managing resources that service 3.5 million residents in Africa’s best-managed city.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop short/long-term strategies for fleet optimization
• Manage R800M+ annual budget and resource allocation
• Oversee 100+ personnel across technical teams
• Implement vehicle lifecycle management systems
• Design maintenance programs for 3,000+ municipal vehicles
• Ensure compliance with MFMA regulations
• Analyze operational data for process improvements

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Transport/Logistics/Mechanical Engineering
• MFMA Competency Certification (or obtain within 18 months)
• 8 years fleet management experience (3+ years executive level)
• Valid driver’s license with clean record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in relevant field
• 9 years experience with municipal fleet operations
• Proven track record in large-scale asset management
