Position Summary
Job Type: Full Time (8-year project duration)
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
Experience: 8 years in relevant field, including 4 years management
About the Role
Lead implementation of $40.1M Green Climate Fund project enhancing community resilience to climate-related disasters through ecosystem-based solutions (2025-2033).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee program planning, coordination, and execution
- Manage financial resources and stakeholder relationships
- Direct monitoring & evaluation systems for multi-project programs
- Lead team management and capacity building initiatives
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and national policies
Requirements
- Degree in Life Sciences, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences or related field
- Proven experience managing large-scale donor-funded projects
- Advanced financial management and reporting skills
- Strong knowledge of climate change policy and biodiversity conservation
- Valid driver’s license with 1+ years driving experience
Core Competencies
- Project management certification (preferred)
- Advanced stakeholder engagement abilities
- Expertise in government partnership models
- High proficiency in MS Office suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
