About Us:
City of Tshwane is a Category A Grade 6 urban municipality established under South Africa’s Municipal Structures Act. We deliver essential services to communities through integrated urban management.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead regional parks, horticulture and cemetery operations
– Manage maintenance of public spaces including traffic islands, sports facilities, and nature reserves
– Oversee compliance with environmental protection regulations (NEMA Act 57 of 2003)
– Direct teams in urban forestry operations and biodiversity conservation
– Control regional budget and resource allocation
– Implement occupational health & safety standards
Requirements:
– Valid Code B driver’s license
– 8+ years horticultural/environmental management experience
– Proficiency in project management and public space maintenance
– Strong leadership and budgeting skills
– Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
– Clear criminal record verification required
Preferred Skills:
– Strategic planning capabilities
– Effective communication & stakeholder engagement
– Problem-solving in urban environmental management
– Knowledge of municipal service delivery frameworks
