Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate/Grade 12;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a related field (NQF level 7);
  • 7 years of relevant experience in a Monitoring and Evaluation environment, including 3 years at middle management level in the public or private sector;
  • Experience supervising multiple, diverse service functions at the same time, with strong supervisory and team leadership skills;
  • Ability to work with people at different levels in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Primary Function:

  • Lead, direct, oversee, analyze, and research monitoring and evaluation for executive flagship projects and performance management in the Office of the Mayoral Committee Member (MMC). This supports the successful achievement of the Mayoral priorities.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Provide monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support and strategic advice;
  • Lead and direct M&E for flagship projects and programs related to mayoral and strategic priorities;
  • Develop and maintain a repository of information and data on the City of Johannesburg’s performance;
  • Manage the establishment of performance measures to drive the directorate’s strategic objectives;
  • Assist in implementing a performance management system in the directorate.
