Position Details

• Employment Type: Full Time
• Qualifications: National Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering (NQF 6)
• Experience: 5 years (3+ years managerial experience in water/sanitation)
• Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
• Department: Infrastructure Operations
• License Requirement: Valid EB Driver’s License

Core Responsibilities

1. Oversee water distribution and sanitation services across depot operations
2. Manage infrastructure maintenance programs (pipelines, valves, sewer systems)
3. Implement water conservation strategies and leakage reduction initiatives
4. Coordinate emergency response teams for service interruptions
5. Supervise meter installation/management and compliance auditing
6. Lead workforce management (75+ personnel) and stakeholder communications
7. Monitor operational budgets and resource allocation
8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in municipal water operations
• Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Leadership skills with multi-team management experience
• Problem-solving abilities for infrastructure challenges
• Computer literacy in maintenance management systems
