Job Purpose
To manage the information life cycle effectively. This includes identifying, analyzing, and developing information assets, and assessing business information needs.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification and Experience Required
- A relevant bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Information Systems (NQF 7), plus 5-7 years’ experience in a similar environment, including 2-3 years at a technically skilled level.
Alternative
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4) plus 10 years’ related experience, including 2-3 years at a technically skilled level.
Minimum Functional Requirements
- Experience in Data Engineering, Business Data Intelligence, or Data Science.
- Intermediate practical knowledge of data processes, cleaning, analysis, reporting, data models, database design, and testing.
- Knowledge and experience with reporting tools (such as SQL), databases (SQL), and programming (SQL, R, Python).
- Experience in digital forensics investigations, including methods and techniques like Power BI.
- Intermediate knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical tools (Excel, SPSS, SAS, R) for dataset analysis.
- Intermediate knowledge of data warehousing.

Job Outputs
Process
- Share analysis results and findings using data visualization techniques with internal and external customers.
- Provide specialist input through investigations and identify opportunities, including risk areas, within the product process.
- Design, develop, and test data analytics solutions such as reports, dashboards, analyses, extracts, and models.
- Maintain and improve existing data analytics solutions like reports to ensure their availability.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary sources, maintain databases, and apply data extraction, transformation, and business modeling knowledge.
- Help filter and clean imported data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to fix code issues.

- Perform business analysis using techniques like statistical analysis, modeling, and data mining.
