Qualifications & Experience

• Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or related field + 5-7 years’ data analytics experience (2-3 years at specialist level)
• Option 2: Senior Certificate (NQF 4) + 10 years’ relevant experience (2-3 years at specialist level)

Technical Requirements

Non-Negotiable Skills:

• Advanced SQL (T-SQL or equivalent)
• Python/R programming
• SSIS, SSAS & Power BI
• Advanced C#
• JavaScript/HTML
• GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, GeoServer, etc.)

Key Competencies:

• Data pipeline development & optimization
• Statistical analysis & predictive modeling
• Data visualization & BI methodologies
• Large dataset management across platforms

Core Responsibilities

Data Solutions:

• Design and implement medium-complex analytics solutions (reports, dashboards, models)
• Clean/transform data and automate reporting processes
• Interpret trends in structured/unstructured datasets

Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure solutions meet data governance standards
• Maintain compliance with legislative requirements

Collaboration:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement improvements
• Share knowledge and mentor junior staff

Preferred Experience

• Government data systems
• Spatial data integration
• Cross-departmental digital transformation projects
