Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Dangerous Goods Driver to join our team in Blackheath, Cape Town. You will transport hazardous materials safely and efficiently, following all government rules and company policies.

Your main tasks will include loading and unloading hazardous materials, checking the vehicle regularly, and keeping accurate records of transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport hazardous materials safely to and from locations.
• Load and unload materials using the right safety steps.
• Inspect the vehicle often and do basic maintenance.
• Keep all transport papers accurate and current.
• Follow all rules for transporting dangerous goods.
• Communicate well with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
• Keep your work area clean and organized.
• Always follow safety rules and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license with hazardous materials endorsement.
• At least 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Knowledge of rules for transporting dangerous goods.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Able to work alone or in a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Work in different weather conditions.
• Sit for long periods and drive a commercial vehicle.
