Role Summary
We seek a meticulous Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) Assistant to ensure proper sterilization, preparation, and maintenance of medical equipment for patient safety and operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform daily autoclave testing and maintenance
- Sterilize and package surgical instruments following protocols
- Maintain strict infection control standards
- Manage equipment inventory and stock rotation
- Ensure proper storage of sterilized materials
- Report maintenance needs and supply requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 certification (essential)
- CSSD Sterilization certification (advantageous)
- 1-3 years hospital/CSSD experience
- Knowledge of surgical equipment handling
- Attention to detail and safety consciousness
