Job Title: Creditors Clerk/Accounts Assistant

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Creditors Clerk/Accounts Assistant to join our team. The role involves managing accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the finance department with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and authorize invoices/GRVs before processing on Xero.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process payment runs accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date creditor accounts and payment terms.
  • Address supplier and internal queries regarding payments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing month-end accounts payable reports.
  • Support financial closing activities (month-end and year-end).
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate (required).
  • Bookkeeping diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Creditors Clerk or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel).
  • Experience with Xero accounting software (advantageous).
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
