Courier Driver – Midrand Jobs

Job Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Courier Driver to join our team. You will deliver packages and documents to stores and customers safely and on time. You must follow traffic rules and interact professionally with everyone you meet.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Valid Driver’s License Code 8
• At least 2 years of door-to-door delivery experience

Advantageous:

• PDP License

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Duties:

• Deliver the correct products to the right stores or customers at the scheduled time.
• Choose the shortest and safest route to the destination and back to the warehouse.
• Follow warehouse rules for loading and unloading.
• Check and get signatures for all deliveries from clients.
• Take full responsibility for any damages or losses during delivery.
• Represent the company professionally and wear the company uniform.
• Load the vehicle according to the delivery log sheet and procedures.
• Unload goods carefully to avoid damage.
• Help with unpacking if needed.
• Mark every stop on the daily Driver Trip Sheet.
• Return used boxes to the correct bins at the Distribution Centre.

Reporting Duties:

• Provide correct and signed Proof of Delivery documents to the Call Centre Clerk.
• Submit a copy of the signed Delivery Log Sheet or Truck Manifest to management at the end of each day.
• Record any issues or discrepancies on the Delivery Log Sheet and get them co-signed.
• Hand all Proof of Delivery documents to the Call Centre Clerk for entry into the system.

Communication:

• Contact the Courier Call Centre Clerk about any issues with client addresses.

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Check the vehicle daily using the weekly checklist for defects and safety.
• Manage the fuel card and refuel only the assigned vehicle.
• Report all accidents or incidents involving yourself or company vehicles.
• Follow all road traffic rules and regulations.
• Pay for any traffic fines on the vehicle you drive.
• Cover the insurance excess if negligent.

General Duties:

• Follow Dis-Chem’s policies and standard operating procedures.
• Comply with health and safety rules.
