Control Provincial Inspector (Metro) – Western Cape Government

Job Purpose

Lead strategic traffic law enforcement operations and organizational development in the Western Cape Mobility Department:

  • Manage performance and organizational culture for effective law enforcement operations
  • Collaborate with Traffic Centre managers and Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Oversee Worcester, Laingsburg, Beaufort West, and Oudtshoorn Traffic Centres
  • Requires flexibility for irregular hours and high-pressure deadlines

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-Year National Diploma/B-Degree or equivalent
  • 7 years’ traffic law enforcement experience (3 years at management level)
  • Registered Traffic/Peace Officer
  • Valid Code B driving license
  • Clean criminal record

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and team management
  • Operational plan alignment with provincial/national strategies
  • Data analysis and policy development for service improvement
  • Regional performance management and reporting
  • Financial and human resource management

Required Competencies

Technical Knowledge:

  • Traffic Law Enforcement operations
  • Key legislation: National Road Traffic Acts, Firearms Control Act, Criminal Procedure Act
  • Public Prosecutions guidelines and procurement processes

Essential Skills:

  • Leadership and conflict management
  • Financial analysis and project management
  • Advanced communication and report writing
  • Legal interpretation and investigation techniques
  • Problem-solving under pressure

Remuneration

All-inclusive package: R 896,436 per annum (Level 11)
